We drove up today from Cornwall. A long journey but largely without incident. Although the weather was dry to start with, albeit overcast and grey, it later started to rain and by the time we arrived at Albert Dock it was serious rain - the fine sort that gets into everything!
We heard later that there had be several incidents on the M6 just after we came through so we were fortunate, more so than those sadly caught up in it.
We parked where we did when we left here and unloaded. Although we were organised not to have to unload everything, in the end after the hour's parking we brought in most things as well as taking the cool box back again!
Mike then set off with the car to Maghull. The first part along the waterfront mover quite smoothly but the second half was much slower.
However, as the arrived at the station after parking the car, he only had four minutes to wait for the next train. Since it is half hourly, that was the train he would have caught even if there had been no queueing traffic!
After alighting at Liverpool Central station it was about 12 minutes walk back to the boat. As he neared the docks the rain lifted.Later we had the lasagne which we brought up with us.
This is set to be a rather unusual trip as our booking for the River Ribble is not until 9th July and we leave here on Saturday. This means that we will have time tomorrow to look around the city centre and several days where we will use the car to explore this part of the country - neither of us has been here before.
0 miles - 0 locks (at least by boat!)
