First day in Pissouri

Wednesday: I should have said before that I do not have any means of putting in any photos so they will have to wait until we return to the boat.

We booked a hire car from home and well before it was due we had a text asking if it could be delivered early. No problem!

View inland from Pissouri Village
After a brief explore of the shops in the immediate area we went by car up the hill to the main village. We missed the main supermarket we had been told about but at least did find a bakery that bakes one the premises. That was at least a loaf for lunch sorted. Now for the insides of the sandwiches.

Looking towards sea from Pissouri Village
We could not see anything other than small shops but on the way back down the twisting road we could see it down below us.

This meant that we now stocked up on enough for a couple of self cater meals and returned to the apartment for lunch.

Beach promenade erosion
In the afternoon we wandered along the beach promenade. This has been somewhat eroded by the sea.

Chapel in hotel grounds
In a the grounds of the main hotel we saw a small chapel. We could not decide whether it predated a the hotel or whether it is just a feature. It is very brightly decorated inside by John Corbidge about 12 years ago.

Decoration inside chapel
We fancied a pastry with a cup of tea but could find nothing locally so drove back up the hill by another road to the main village. This was just was winding as the other one and took as long. But we had seen a goods choice of items in the supermarket in the morning and we were not disappointed.

We cooked our own evening meal with the mince and vegetables bought earlier.

(It is too chilly to sit typing outside anymore and I doubt if the WiFi signal will let me do any updates from inside so today's expedition will have to wait.)
